Ingredients

  • 18-20 pieces split chicken wings both drumettes and wingettes
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Tongs
  • Meat thermometer
  • Paper towels

Method

  1. Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. This removes excess moisture for maximum crispiness.
  2. In a large bowl, combine 3 tablespoons olive oil, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper. Whisk until well mixed.
  3. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss with your hands until all pieces are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 2 minutes.
  5. Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching or overlapping. Cook in batches if necessary.
  6. Cook for 24 to 25 minutes, flipping the wings over with tongs at the halfway point (around 12 minutes).
  7. Check that wings have reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit using a meat thermometer. The skin should be golden brown and crispy.
  8. Let the cooked wings rest for 1 minute, then serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Pat wings very dry before seasoning for maximum crispiness
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket or wings will steam instead of crisp
  • Cooking time may vary by 1 to 2 minutes depending on your air fryer model
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days
  • Reheat in the air fryer at 350 degrees for 5 to 6 minutes to restore crispiness
  • Try different seasonings like lemon pepper, cajun spice, or Italian herbs for variety
