A simple, crispy, and cheesy breakfast toast made entirely in the air fryer. Ready in less than 10 minutes with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 slice thick bread sourdough or Texas toast
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp butter softened
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Method
 

  1. Press the center of the bread slice down with the back of a spoon to create a shallow well. Do not break through the bread.
  2. Spread the softened butter lightly around the edges of the bread.
  3. Place the bread into the air fryer basket carefully.
  4. Crack the egg into the indentation. Season the egg with salt and pepper.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese around the egg on the buttered edges.
  6. Air Fry at 350°F (175°C) for 6 to 8 minutes, until the egg white is set and the toast is golden brown.
  7. Remove carefully with a spatula and serve warm.

Notes

  • Cooking time varies by air fryer model; check at 5 minutes to prevent overcooking.
  • Add toppings like hot sauce or fresh herbs after cooking.
